MISSIONARY TRAVEL TIPS:
Selections have been made from our missionary traveler's experiences.
Please contact us with any “travel tip” you have found worthwhile and would bless others.
Seat Selection
Before calling the airline to make your seat selection, check www.seatguru.com and look up the aircraft you are flying. It will tell you which seats offer extra leg or elbow room and which to avoid – such as those that don’t recline, have immovable armrests, or have an obstructed view of the movie screen.
Dodge paying for Wi-Fi at the airport
Sit right outside an airport club lounge: Wi-Fi signals often glide through the walls.
Carbonated drinks on long distance flights?
As statement of fact, carbon dioxide at 33,000 feet can make you sick for days! Consider water.
Window shades down, please
Attention Parents; during daylight hours flying above the earth’s atmosphere means that nothing is filtering out the sun’s ultraviolet rays.
Excess baggage fees
Many airlines have reduced the limits to two bags that weigh no more than 50 pounds each. However, policies differ among carriers and countries. Not knowing the requirements of each of the carriers that make up your itinerary can mean steep excess-baggage charges. Check the airline web-sites before starting to pack. For example: Ryanair, starts calculating excess baggage fees when the total exceeds 33 pounds.
Why take one Aspirin? (CONSULT YOUR PHYSICAN!)
(1) Thins blood to prevent blood clots from lack of movement (2) Wards off germs from recycled air (3) Helps overcome time zones.
Blessings to you and the ministry you represent,
